The card you need to earn a MAX of Cashback

Hello hello,

I recently shared with you my strategy for paying 0 fees with your bank cards, because in my opinion, before getting a credit card, you should have set your bank fees to 0. If you haven’t watched this video, go and watch it after reading this article 😉

So, now that you’ve been able to take the steps to make sure your bank charges are as low as possible, it’s time for me to share with you the credit card I use to get 1% cashback when I store in stores other than Lidl or Aldi (because I still use Yuh for these).

So if you want to earn CHF 100-300 a year, this article is for you!

Ready to find out how to earn 1% cashback on your purchases?

3-2-1 and let’s go!

Why should you choose this credit card?

There are plenty of cashback credit cards out there, up to 1% in the traditional market, up to 5% in the crypto world too, but most of them have bank account management fees (like PostFinance) or hidden charges. For a long time, I went without because I couldn’t see any added value in earning cashback to pay fees on the side.

Then I came across the Amex card (American Express). So I decided to try it out before writing an article. I took the opportunity to take screenshots of the ordering process, my first use of the Swisscard Cashback mobile app, and their web application.

After a few months of use, I have to say I’m very satisfied.

So, if you decide to order an Amex Cashback too, here’s a code enabling us to win CHF 40 each: “FC4F6XXJN“. We’re both winners, what could be more magical?

First of all, here are the reasons why I use the Amex card:

  • It’s free forever (no annual fee)
  • It charges you zero fees for purchases in CHF (with the Swiss Cashback card)
  • It offers cashback in CHF on purchases, i.e. 1% cashback, making it the most competitive card in Switzerland today

And the reasons why I use either YUH, Revolut & BCF:

  • They’re also free (no account management fees)
  • To receive my salary and have a physical bank, I use BCF
  • To withdraw CHF cash free of charge from ATMs, I use BCF or YUH
  • To pay abroad or in foreign currency online, I use Revolut. I benefit from the interbank exchange rate (i.e. the exchange value of a currency in a transaction between two banks) without any mark-up (so no hidden fees)

Cashback Swisscard credit card order tutorial

First, click on this link to start ordering your Swisscard cashback credit card.
You’ll be able to choose the card pair you want: Amex and Mastercard, or Amex and VISA. I personally chose the second option.

The first step is to fill in your personal details

You’ll be asked for your title, first name, last name, e-mail address and cell phone number. Check the box to accept that your data will be recorded for the purposes of the application process.

You will then be asked to enter your postal address, housing situation, monthly housing costs, number of dependent children, date of birth, nationality and language of correspondence.

You’ll also be asked for information about your employment status and bank details. Then you’ll have to decide which name to put on the credit card.
I then recommend that you tick the “cardservice online access” box, so that you can download your invoices in PDF format via their website if required.

The second step is to choose the payment method for your Amex invoice

You’ll have a choice of payment slip or direct debit system. Choose the one that suits you best.

You will then be asked if you already have a credit card. Then the identification of the beneficial owner.

The third step applies to couples

Here, you can add an additional pair of Swiss credit cards for your partner.

Personally, this doesn’t concern me. But if you manage joint expenses, this option is interesting, especially as it’s free.

The fourth step is to enter the promo code for the CHF 40 welcome bonus

If you’re interested in this Swisscard Cashback credit card, don’t hesitate to use the channel’s welcome code FC4F6XXJN, you’ll receive a CHF 40 welcome bonus and so will the channel (so a big thank you to you).

The fifth step is to check that your details are correct (a very important part!), as well as verifying your identity and signing on line

Swisscard Cashback offers online signature and identity verification, and it’s super fast! All you have to do is download an application, enter the identification code given to you during the registration process, and you’ll be put in touch with a real person (yes, no kidding, it was like Facetime). The person will take your picture, then turn the camera to photograph the front and back of your ID card, then you’ll have to sign the document online and say out loud again “Yes, I want to sign the contract”. I must say it was an experience 😉
Then, within 7 to 9 working days, you’ll receive your cards.

Swisscard mobile and web application

Swisscard offers a mobile and web application for its Cashback credit cards; the web for your little eyes and the “secure” side found on the computer compared to mobiles. The functionalities are the same as the app, so there’s no risk of getting lost (viewing transactions and invoices). You can download your monthly statements in PDF format, and you can also set up notifications on your phone for every transaction you make, to give you peace of mind.

Feedback on use

Honestly, if you try it, you’ll love it!
However, for the frugal at heart, Lidl and Aldi refuse this card, so you’ll have to pay with your Yuh, Yuh twint or Revolut card if you’re following my ZERO COST strategy.

On the other hand, Migros, Coop, other grocery stores, most restaurants, etc. accept the American Express card, so if you can get 1% cashback in these stores, we won’t complain.

MONEY MADAM‘s optimal strategy

If you’re looking for a good strategy to optimize your costs, the combo of American Express for its 1% cashback, with YUH for your salary, savings and payments when American Express doesn’t work, and Revolut for secure online payments and abroad, is in my view the optimal solution.
You’ll benefit from CHF 0 bank charges (as long as you pay your American Express bills as soon as you receive them !!!!!!! Very important!) and CHF 100.- to 300.- cashback per year.
If you’re into crypto, the crypto.com credit card gives you cashback of between 1 and 5%, but for this you need to block between CHF 350 and 350,000 in CRO (crypto from crypto.com) on the platform. What’s more, the cashback will be paid in CRO to your wallet, not in CHF. So think again. But if you want to open a crypto.com account, don’t hesitate to use my referral code: gztvbmgzcb

CHF 40 as a welcome gift

Now that you’ve read the whole article, are you tempted by this credit card? If so, don’t hesitate to take advantage of a CHF 40 welcome bonus when you order your American Express Cashback credit card from Swisscard. All you have to do is enter my promotional code FC4F6XXJN during the registration process.

That’s all for today’s article. Don’t hesitate to let me know if my article made you want to order the card, and especially if you’re already using it, don’t hesitate to give me your feedback.

And now… To your cashback!
